Since we have concluded not to do a birthday party this round, so to celebrate Zarell’s 2nd Birthday we decided to have him experience his first flight and take our little family for a short break in Langkawi (plus a cake cutting thingy on the actual date at Seremban + dinner) This was Deena’s second trip to Langkawi, but still as excited as Zarell for another flying adventure (she even did the ‘rocket lift-off’ thing like in the Little Einstein show).
Langkawi was fun, the kids enjoyed it tremendously … overall, we had a great time there. We went to the Crocodile Farm, the Underwater World, we did Island Hopping and went to Tasik Dayang Bunting, eagle feeding at Pulau Singa Besar and basking under the sun at the white sandy beach of Pulau Beras Basah… lovely!… and when we were not doing all this activities, we spent our days dipping into the hotel’s pool and had quiet, blissful afternoons sunbathing/relaxing by the azure sea...

This entry is to sum up our activities in June & July 2008… which basically was a couple of quiet months... nothing much happened. Majority of the pix are of Deena & Zarell kat kampung as most weekends we spent at Sban to accompany Zaki’s mom.
Then of my buddy, Julia’s stopover in KL after visiting her parents & relatives in Brunei/Sarawak. We met for lunch, shopping then tea… Oklah, but kind of a too short a meetup... Also, pix of my kids at MBO Ampang to watch KungFu Panda, Zarell had his chicken pox in June and he went thru it, ‘steadily’ as if nothing happens  plus other misc pix of us.

Zaki’s father passed away peacefully on June 4, 2008 at 9.30am after fighting with pancreatic cancer. To our friends, thank you for the condolences and support during this difficult time of loss.
Thus, for the time being, there will be no update to our family FP.

A few pix of us in May. Nothing much happened this month… Deena started her Yamaha Music School course (Junior Music Course – JMC) on May 7th… class is on every Wed night. As JMC requires parental participation, we’ve decided that Zaki to be the one to accompany Deena for her classes, which also a great way for him to de-stress. Others are just misc. pix of us.

Apart from our trip to Disney on Ice, Museum & Science Centre, as featured in previous entries (highlights of the month-lah konon ), here are pix of us in the rest of Apr. Deena went for her (1st) school field trip, to High 5 Bread Museum. She came back from the field trip with 2 bags of bread (doorgift) that she proudly presented to us... bangga habis!
Also, pix of our team on Winnie’s farewell … my mentor, my confidante… but life has to go on. Then, photos & newspaper coverage of our YE DAY in The Star  We had lots of fun that day (25.04.08) and we sold off all of our products! Rest pix of the kids at Santai Café, Tmn Tasik Permaisuri (nice ambiance, food not that great), of one of my lunch with Lea kin at Bakerzin (love the lunch ‘sampler’ set, recommended) plus other misc. photos.

The National Science Centre (26.04.08)

Jalan-jalan Saturday afternoon... we've been here a few times before, but we didn't take any pix to document our 'expeditions'  A nice place to bring the kids and to introduce them to science & technology. Lots of interesting educational displays/apparatus in the main building for them to explore and the kids can roam free at the parks outside which consists several small parks/gardens. Zarell loves to chase after rabbits at the Rabbit Alley and Deena loves twirling around the dreamy, whimsical Butterfly/Botanical Garden.

Deena & Zarell's 1st trip to the National Museum... as for Zaki & me, it was like taking a trip down 'memory lane’, like a history refresher course  … Syiok jugak… Deena asked many complicated questions for example 'what's merdeka?"... and Zaki had all the 'pleasure' explaining to her Zarell, he slept all the way until we came out from the main building, to the Malay Heritage museum next door.

Although this is our 3rd Disney on Ice, yet Deena (especially) & Zarell was nevertheless captivated by the amazing performance... They were so happy to see their fav characters came to live! Zarell is into Captain Hook, while Deena loves Peter & Tinkerbell... other than Ariel, Lilo etc...
Errr... some video recordings of the show (i know, i know... it's prohibited, I just can't help it lar) All from 'Under The Sea' scene featuring the Little Mermaid, Ariel... resolution not that great, cameraphone only, can't bring in camcorder...

28.03.08 - Deena's 1st Class Presentation. She was all up and excited about it days before the actual date. Turned out she was actually nervous coz she was choosen to do a solo presentation (opening act) for her class... and we didn't know until the presentation day. Naturally, we (Zaki especially) was darn proud... hehehe... But sadly, I couldn't come coz I've an important meeting scheduled that day that I can't skip  ... a working mom's dilemma. Anyway, Zaki took the day off to accompany her... (and I missed all the fun) Here's to share some pix taken from Zaki's hp (hence the late upload...)

We attended a wedding, an engagement kenduri and a pre-wedding dinner this month… phew... guess it was bcoz of the school hols, people tends to hold these kind of ceremonies.
We found this newly opened restaurant in Ampang called Intai-Intai. Nice place, good food (their Murtabak Di-Raja was yummy) Also, we took the kids to their dad’s football friendly match with OSK Investment at Sek. Men. Teknik, KL. The kids had a blast coz it was their 1st time watching live soccer, but me, I had a hard time running around the football field chasing after Zarell!
